Copacabana Beach, Rio De Janeiro, Brazil
When in Rio one must stay at the iconic Copacabana Palace Hotel which sits directly across from one of the worlds most renowned beaches. Built in 1923 before the beach came to world fame and designed as a high-class beach retreat for worldwide stars. The art deco hotel by French Architect Joseph Gire showcases opulent decorations which make you feel as though you have been whisked back in to time to another day and age.

Make your way down to Copacabana Beach stretching for about 5 km with the towering sugarloaf in the backdrop. This beach has something to offer for everyone. One can sit back and relax watching beach life unfold or take part in playing beach vollyeball on the beach!

Capirinhas on the beach – this guy!

Ipanema Beach is equally stunning with the neighbouring mountain on the coastline, Morro Dois Irmaos. This beach is located with barracas (small beach tents) for renting chairs and umbrellas or purchasing food. Worth seeing!
Escadaria Selaron
Next head to Santa Teresa, one of the prettiest neighbourhoods in Rio. The colourful streets are full or charm famed for being particularly arty. Be sure to visit the Escadaria Selaron, an ongoing staircase art project that uses ceramics, tiles, and mirror pieces from around the world. Only 5 minutes from downtown Rio, Santa Teresa has plenty of food options.

Venture to Lapa in for a night to remember! Have dinner in the main streets and then head off the beaten track to the authentic Samba Bars of Rio. Lapa is the place to go for good times and late nights , with live Samba and dancing until sunrise. Step into the shoes of the locals dancing the night away. I had my most fun here in Rio Scenarium Samba Bar besides you can’t come to Rio and not go Samba Dancing!

Christ the Redeemer stands high located on the summit of Mount Corcovado. The most unbelievable statue in the world looming over the city of Rio at a staggering height of 2,300 feet. An unforgettable view!

Last but certainly not least take a trip up to SugarLoaf mountain. 1300 feet tall and at its peak, the entire city unfolds below you. Here you will discover spectacular views of Ipanema and Guanabara Bay. Try to make sure you get there for sunrise or sunset as the sun unfolds upon the city. Save the best for last!
